Terms of Service
These terms are the agreement between you and EZ-WEB, Lda. for the Verissimum app and website. Using Verissimum means you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use Verissimum.
Who may use Verissimum
You must be 18 or older, and you must be able to enter a contract where you live. An account is for one person. This version of Verissimum is in English only.
Your account
You can sign in with Google, with Apple, with a single-use link sent to your email address, or with an email address and a password. Whichever you choose, keep it to yourself.
You are responsible for what happens on your account, including every viewer on it and the parental PIN you set. Tell us at support@ez-web.pt if you think somebody else has got in.
What it costs
Verissimum is free. There is nothing to buy inside the app, there is no subscription, and there is no advertising.
The one limit is how much you can generate. A free account can generate 30 stories in each 30-day period. The app shows what is left before you commit to a story. We can change the limit, and we will tell you before we do.
If we ever charge for anything, we will say so clearly first, and you will have to agree to it. Nothing in these terms lets us charge you by surprise.
The stories
Verissimum writes, narrates and animates every story with automated systems. Each one is judged and checked against the boundaries of its maturity band before it is published. Automated work is not perfect.
A Verissimum story is entertainment. Do not treat it as advice, factual, medical, legal, financial or otherwise. An explainer is fact checked automatically, and an automatic check is not a guarantee that every detail is right.
Report a story that is wrong for the band it appears in, or wrong in any other way, at support@ez-web.pt. We take down what does not belong.
What you may do with a story
You may watch a story, and download it in the app, for your own personal and household use. That permission lasts while your account does.
You may not redistribute a story, publish it, sell it, put it in another product, or use it to train a model. You may not strip a story out of the app.
We can change a story or remove it. A story is not a file you own a copy of.
What is yours
The viewers you create and the notes you type stay yours. You give us permission to use them to make the story you asked for and to run the service for you. That permission ends when you delete the viewer or the account.
The Verissimum name, the app and the software behind it are ours.
Acceptable use
Do not use Verissimum to:
- produce content that is illegal where you are;
- produce content that sexualises a minor, in any form;
- harass, threaten or defame a person;
- infringe somebody else’s rights.
Do not try to:
- get past a maturity band boundary, a parental PIN or the separation between accounts;
- reach another person’s account or data;
- scrape the service, overload it, or take it apart to work around a limit.
Notifications
Notifications are optional. You turn them on in the app, and you turn them off again in the app or in your device settings. We only use them to tell you a story is ready.
Availability
We can change Verissimum, pause it, or stop it. It is a free service and we do not promise it will always be up, but we keep it running as well as we reasonably can.
If we decide to shut the service down, we will tell you first and leave you time to delete your account.
Ending it
Delete your account whenever you like, from the account settings in the app or on the website. The deletion is immediate, and the privacy policy says exactly what goes with it.
We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms. Where it is fair to do so, we tell you why before we do it.
No warranty
Verissimum is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we make no promise that it will suit a particular purpose, that it will be uninterrupted, or that any story will be accurate.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect loss, for loss of profit, or for data you lost that you could have kept a copy of. Where the law allows a cap on our total liability to you, that cap is 100 EUR, because Verissimum costs you nothing.
Nothing here limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, and liability for fraud.
If you use Verissimum as a consumer, you keep every right your own country’s law gives you. Nothing in these terms takes one away.
The app stores
You get Verissimum from the App Store or from Google Play, and their own terms cover the download. Apple and Google are not parties to this agreement. They do not run Verissimum, they do not support it, and any claim about Verissimum is a claim against us.
Changes to these terms
We can change these terms. The date at the top says when we last did. We tell you inside the app before a change that matters to you takes effect, and using Verissimum after that means you accept it.
Governing law and where a claim goes
The law of Portugal governs these terms. If you are a consumer in the European Union, you keep the right to bring a claim in the courts of the country you live in.
